Tomorrow I am traveling to Door County to visit Bjorklunden. It is likely that I will produce a short documentary on the history of the building. I hope this is the most traditional documentary I have to produce.
The Milwaukee-Downer project is slow moving at the moment. I am excited about the recent discovery of controversy (sells) on the topic. I had originally thought I would sweep all the dirt under the rug, but the more I learn about the legacy of Milwaukee-Downer, the more I lean towards presenting the ongoing discussion of how this women's college exists today within the context of a co-educational institution. I guess this is technically what I was asked to do originally, but the impression was of only positive things. I'm not sure it will turn out that way.
My friend Jinglei Xiao is directing a horror film called Post-Meridian. I met him through the LU film production club and he asked me to help out with his film. During many of the shoots I assisted with camera work and lighting/sound. We are about 80% done filming and he has asked me to continue working on some post-production things this summer while he is home in China. Today I'm going to finish cutting one of the death scenes and fixing the color. I've been exploring some sound-effect websites and I'm not exactly sure what to do for music.
Yesterday I uploaded a short film that I made in about 30 minutes while sitting in my room. I got the idea the day before and thought I should just record it as soon as possible. The water is a metaphor for life. The voice is the conscious. Enjoy.
